2007 has been a year of comings and goings, fire and loss, windstorms and broken structures. It's also been a year in which many new wonderful bonds were formed in the San Diego burner community.

In all this change, there's also been continuity - the man still burned, the Padres still lost, Pirates are still cool, and Pu'uhonua stayed in the family!

We invite you to continue the tradition started in 2003 with our Nude Year's [ahem!] New Year's PIRATES INVADE PU'UHONUA - 48 hours of fending off marauders, walking the plank and general screaming and debauchery!

Sleeping over
There will be plenty of room to crash and stay until New Year's Day.
There's nothing like a soak in the hot tub with new and old friends
and a mimosa in hand as the sun comes up over the trees!
Things to bring

  • A towel for the hot tub
  • Bedding for sleeping over
Things to do
  • Dance, eat, drink and converse
  • Make and watch videos
  • Swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub

Special Attractions

Innocent beginnings
Starting at Noon Sunday, pirates, wenches and innocent civilians
disport themselves in the mellow Pu'uhonua atmosphere.
Pirates Invade Pu'uhonua at 4:00pm
At 4pm we begin our movie marathon in the big theater room
showing the complete Pirates of the Caribbean series,
with generous breaks for food and grog.
The hot tub and other gathering places will also be available.
Swim for your life!
Monday morning and day is a great time for socializing.
The hot tub will be hot and the pool will be warm.
New Year's Eve
Join us in celebrating the arrival of 2008.
Practice your leaping. Dance and carouse!
Closing Credits
  • Join us for a morning hot tub.
  • Help us clean up.
  • Gather your costumes and props.
  • Exchange hugs and kisses.
  • All revelers must be gone by noon or you walk the plank!

Please check in with that lusty pirate or wench, at least with eye contact,
before showering them with your physical affection.

  • don't suffer in silence!
Matter Out Of Place
Please help us reduce and eliminate MOOP!
Please clean up after yourself and others during the party.
Closing time
Please honor the ending time of Noon on January 1st.
We gladly accept your assistance in cleanup
and we ask that you take your leave by Noon.
We need some recovery time before Wednesday morning.
